Local Elections: A Look Behind the Scenes | September 9 & 16

Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes to make elections happen? Come to Superior Public Library for a free, two-part series presented by the City of Superior Clerk’s office that explores how elections work, the people who make them possible, and how you can get involved.

On September 9, go “Behind the Ballot: How Elections Work” with City Clerk Heidi Blunt and Douglas County Clerk Kaci Lundgren as they provide a behind-the-scenes look at local elections. Learn about ballot preparation, election equipment, security and the chain of custody, and what happens before, during, and after Election Day.

On September 16, Deputy City Clerk Dawn Bacon and City of Superior Election Inspectors will present “Behind the Polls: Meet Superior’s Election Inspectors,” where you’ll learn how to join the team for the upcoming November 3 election. Learn about eligibility, training, responsibilities, and how to apply. Current election inspectors will share their experiences and talk about what motivates them to serve their communities and supporting a healthy democracy.

Both programs will start at 5 p.m. and will include a presentation and Q & A. No registration required!
