Summer Reading Program: "On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!"
Kids and teens ages Pre K through 12th grade are welcome to join our Summer Reading Program! Pick up a reading log in the Children's Room, read what you want, keep track of your reading, and win prizes! The theme for Pre-K through 5th grade is "On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!" and the theme from 6-12th grade is "Get in the Game--READ!"

FREE Movie at the Library, "Norm of the North"

In this animated comedy for the whole family, an oddball polar bear named Norm (voice of Rob Schneider) is outraged when he learns that human beings are planning to build condos in his Arctic home. He and three lemming pals decide to go to New York City to confront the real-estate developer responsible. Heather Graham, Ken Jeong, Gabriel Iglesias, Bill Nighy, and Loretta Devine also lend their voices. This movie is rated PG. Light snacks will be available.

Young Jesse Owens (Stephan James) becomes a track and field sensation while attending the Ohio State University in the early 1930s. With guidance from coach Larry Snyder (Jason Sudeikis), Owens gains national recognition for breaking numerous records. After heated debates, the United States decides not to boycott the Olympics in Nazi Germany. Overcoming racism at home and abroad, Owens seizes the opportunity to show Berlin and the the world that he's the fastest man alive. This movie is rated PG-13. Light snacks will be available.

In a city inhabited by anthropomorphic animals who have abandoned traditional predator/prey roles in favor of civilized coexistence, uptight rabbit police officer Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) is forced to work with charismatic fox con artist Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) to crack a major case involving the mysterious disappearance of some carnivorous citizens. But when a few of the missing critters reappear, having reverted to pre-enlightenment savagery, it exposes existing anti-carnivore prejudice among the city's herbivores that threatens to damage the fabric of their diverse metropolis. Harry Potter & the Ultimate Party -- a Fundraiser for the Children's Room

Join us for the ULTIMATE Harry Potter Party as we celebrate the latest Harry Potter book, Harry Potter & the Cursed Child, with a book fair to support Superior Public Library's Children's Room. Join us at Barnes & Noble in Duluth for Harry Potter-themed events such as The Sorting Hat, Quidditch tournament, Charms and Potions Classes, the Hunt for the 7 Horcrux's, Trivia Contest, and much more! Enjoy treats from HoneyDukes, send a letter to your favorite Harry Potter character at the Owl Post, or hang out at the Great Hall with some Butter Beer as you watch all the festivities. There will be special activities for the little ones in the children's department. Be sure to dress as your favorite character. At the stroke of midnight, purchase your copy of Harry Potter & the Cursed Childand join in the celebration in honor of Harry Potter's birthday!
