Summer Reading Program: "On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!"
Kids and teens ages Pre K through 12th grade are welcome to join our Summer Reading Program! Pick up a reading log in the Children's Room, read what you want, keep track of your reading, and win prizes! The theme for Pre-K through 5th grade is "On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!" and the theme from 6-12th grade is "Get in the Game--READ!"

Mumble (Elijah Wood), a young emperor penguin, lives in Antarctica. Like others of his kind, he needs to be able to sing to attract a mate, but he has a terrible voice. Instead, Mumble must express himself, and lure a female through his amazing talent for tap-dancing.

Children's Storytime with Just Kids Dental

Join us for "Toothfairy Story Time" with Just Kids Dental, a team of registered dental hygienists who provide oral health and education to young children. They'll present a fun, informative 30-minute program about brushing, flossing, and nutrition. Every child receives a kit with a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and sticker or pencil.

Track coach Jim White (Kevin Costner) is a newcomer to a predominantly Latino high-school in California's Central Valley. Coach White and his new students find that they have much to learn about one another, but things begin to change when White realizes the boys' exceptional running ability. More than just physical prowess drives the teens to succeed; their strong family ties, incredible work ethic and commitment to their team all play a factor in forging these novice runners into champions. As America's stock of athletic young men is depleted during World War II, a professional all-female baseball league springs up in the Midwest, funded by publicity-hungry candy maker Walter Harvey (Garry Marshall). Competitive sisters Dottie Hinson (Geena Davis) and Kit Keller (Lori Petty) spar with each other, scout Ernie Capadino (Jon Lovitz) and grumpy has-been coach Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks) on their way to fame. Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell co-star as two of the sisters' teammates. This movie is rated PG and light snacks will be available.

Daniel (Ralph Macchio) moves to Southern California with his mother, Lucille (Randee Heller), but quickly finds himself the target of a group of bullies who study karate at the Cobra Kai dojo. Fortunately, Daniel befriends Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki "Pat" Morita), an unassuming repairman who just happens to be a martial arts master himself. Miyagi takes Daniel under his wing, training him in a more compassionate form of karate and preparing him to compete against the brutal Cobra Kai. In a city inhabited by anthropomorphic animals who have abandoned traditional predator/prey roles in favor of civilized coexistence, uptight rabbit police officer Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) is forced to work with charismatic fox con artist Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) to crack a major case involving the mysterious disappearance of some carnivorous citizens. But when a few of the missing critters reappear, having reverted to pre-enlightenment savagery, it exposes existing anti-carnivore prejudice among the city's herbivores that threatens to damage the fabric of their diverse metropolis. Harry Potter & the Ultimate Party -- a Fundraiser for the Children's Room

Join us for the ULTIMATE Harry Potter Party as we celebrate the latest Harry Potter book, Harry Potter & the Cursed Child, with a book fair to support Superior Public Library's Children's Room. Join us at Barnes & Noble in Duluth for Harry Potter-themed events such as The Sorting Hat, Quidditch tournament, Charms and Potions Classes, the Hunt for the 7 Horcrux's, Trivia Contest, and much more! Enjoy treats from HoneyDukes, send a letter to your favorite Harry Potter character at the Owl Post, or hang out at the Great Hall with some Butter Beer as you watch all the festivities. There will be special activities for the little ones in the children's department. Be sure to dress as your favorite character. At the stroke of midnight, purchase your copy of Harry Potter & the Cursed Childand join in the celebration in honor of Harry Potter's birthday!

When college coach Herb Brooks (Kurt Russell) is hired to helm the 1980 U.S. men's Olympic hockey team, he brings a unique and brash style to the ice. After assembling a team of hot-headed college all-stars, who are humiliated in an early match, Brooks unites his squad against a common foe, the heavily-favored Soviet team. As the U.S. squad tries to overcome insurmountable odds and win the gold medal, the team becomes a microcosm for American patriotism during the Cold War.
