Senior Book Club

Join us for a spirited discussion of Louise Erdrich's The Round House. Senior Book Club meets the first Tuesday of each month and books are available to be picked up at the circulation desk. Copies of the Senior Book Club selection for June, Pat Conroy's The Death of Santini, will be available at the circulation desk after May 3. All ages are welcome to participate in the book club.

Tucker the Turtle Takes Time to Tuck and Think
6 p.m. | Library Meeting Room
In this free program, parents and caregivers will learn the Turtle Technique, a fun and interactive method of teaching young children strategies for coping with anger, disappointment, and frustration. Araceli Whitwam-Sell from UW-Extension will instruct participants on how to use the technqiue. This program includes a craft session for participants to make a paper sack puppet to use as a prop while engaging their child as they learn the technique.

Mother's Day Craft

Artist Brianna Borka will teach participants to create a paper bouquet and card to give to Mom for Mother's Day. This program is perfect for kids and teens ages 10-18 and is FREE. Call 715-394-8866 to register.

Our Wild Neighbors
6 p.m. | Library Meeting Room
Have you ever found an injured or orphaned wild animal and wondered what to do? Wildwoods, a wildlife rehabilitation center in Duluth, will visit the library and teach you what to do if you encounter an injured wild animal. They'll talk about how to enhance your environment to keep wild animals safe. This program is free and open to the public.

Clef Society Recital
6:30 p.m. | Library Chandelier Area
Join us for a free recital performed by piano students of Alex Sandor, Kathy Frank, and Roberta Grube. Light refreshments will be available with coffee provided by the Friends of the Library.

Read to a Dog
4 p.m. | Children's Room Storyboat
Young readers can practice and improve their reading skills by reading aloud to certified therapy dogs. This is a FREE program and no registration is required. Dogs are certified through Therapy Dogs International.
