Love Your Local Artist 2023

The date has been set, and after a two-year hiatus, we’re thrilled to announce that Superior Public Library’s Love Your Local Artist event will be held in person in 2023! Our next celebration of local art and local libraries is scheduled for Friday, February 10, 2023 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Superior Public Library.

Each year we invite local photographers, painters, potters, fabric artists, woodworkers, jewelry artists and more to sign up for a space and sell their work at the library during this after-hours event. This celebration is open to the public and includes live music, a raffle featuring artwork donated by participating artists, an Adopt-a-Book sale, wine and refreshments, and a variety of local artists offering their work for sale. All funds raised from the raffle and sign-up fees are used to support the library’s many programs and services throughout the year.

Table fees will once again be $30 (payable by cash or check), and you can provide your own table if you wish. Due to space constraints, the maximum table size we can accommodate is 8 feet long by 3 feet wide. If you’d rather donate an item for the raffle instead of paying the registration fee, you are encouraged to do so, provided the retail value of the item is at least $30.

Love Your Local Artist requires a significant amount of library staff time to plan and execute, and as we navigate the new realities of COVID-19, we’re putting out the call for artists with the understanding that if we don’t achieve a sufficient number of artist registrations by December 15, 2022, we’ll be unable to hold the event. So – please help us spread the word to your artist friends and family! We’ll do our best to reach out to as many artists as possible, but we’d appreciate your help to help get the word out to the local artist community.

Raffle items and table fees can be dropped off at Superior Public Library. We’ll need to receive your payment/artwork donation by Thursday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. in order to reserve your spot. If you’re dropping off an item for the raffle, please include a note with your name when you drop off your item at the library.

If you opt to pay your registration fee with a check, please be aware that we will be holding all registration payments until after the December 15 deadline, and will not be depositing checks until after that date. If we do not have enough artists to hold the event in person, all registration fees and raffle items will be returned to the artists. If that turns out to be the case, we’ll notify you after December 15 to arrange return of payments and raffle items.
