Genealogy for Beginners: Breaking Down Brick Walls: Using FamilySearch & the Wisconsin Historical Society Website

October 19, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Become a family history explorer! Join Marie Mattson, Certified Professional Genealogist®, for a series of FREE classes at the library & learn how to research & discover your ancestors! The final session will be held Thursday, October 19 at 10:30 a.m. and will provide strategies for breaking down “brick walls” in your family history research by using FamilySearch and the Wisconsin Historical Society website.

Genealogy for Beginners is designed to help people interested in exploring their family tree but are not sure how to start or what to do when they get “stuck”. The lessons will help participants plan their research and go about finding the information they need to continue expanding their family story. Examples will be provided as well as hands-on activities and time to work on their own research.
