Celebrate National Library Week from April 6-12! Whatever draws you in, Superior Public Library has something for everyone. Whether you’re preparing for a career change, launching a business, raising a family, or embracing retirement, Superior Public Library is here to support your journey. Libraries serve as hubs for learning, creativity, and connection, helping people of all ages explore new ideas and opportunities.

In conjunction with National Library Week, Superior Mayor Paine will officially proclaim April 6 – 12, 2025 as Support Your Local Library Week in Superior and Douglas County, encouraging all residents to recognize and celebrate the vital role that libraries play in our community. The public is invited to attend the proclamation event on Monday, April 7 at 11 a.m. and help us celebrate this official recognition.

In addition to the Mayor’s proclamation, Jim Purvis, SPLF Board President and The Friends of the Library will make remarks. Library Director, Sue Heskin, Programming and Partnerships Manager Leslie Mehle, employees and additional Foundation Board Members will also be in attendance.

The Mayor’s proclamation highlights a call to action from the Superior Public Library Foundation, urging individuals and business in the community to support the library and services through donations to a sustaining endowment fund.

The week will include additional opportunities and experiences at the library, including the launch of the Library Passport Program from the Northern Waters Library Network.

Those are just a few of the fun facts you’ll discover about Wisconsin’s history, culture, and natural splendor. Travel throughout northern Wisconsin to get a stamp at each library you visit. Collect 10 different stamps and you’ll be given an entry form to submit for a prize drawing!
