Curbside Pickup Details & FAQs

Superior Public Library will begin offering curbside pickup starting Monday, April 27!

You can place your requests online or by calling the library at (715) 394-8860 during designated hours: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Staff will begin answering phones at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 27.

When you call to request materials, you'll also schedule a pickup time. If you've requested items online, please wait 24 hours before calling the library to set up a pickup appointment.

Please have your library card number ready when you call to make your requests.

When your scheduled pickup time arrives, pull up to the front of the library and a member of our staff will bring your items outside for you to pick up.

Q. How do I request items for pickup?

A. You can request items using our online library catalog or by calling (715) 394-8860 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. When you call to request items, we will also schedule a time for you to come to the library to pick up your items.

  • Pickup appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis during the hours designated above.
  • At your scheduled pickup time, come to the library and your items will be brought outside for you to pick up.


Q. What steps is Superior Public Library taking to prevent transmission of COVID-19?

A. The Superior Public Library is working hard to ensure the safety of the materials we share with you. We are following CDC recommendations for sanitizing and quarantine timelines. Due to those recommendations, please exercise your own judgement on whether to quarantine these items further when you return home.


Q. I have fines on my account! Can I still request and check out materials?

A. If your fines are $5 or less, you can still request and check out materials. If your fines are greater than $5, you can pay your fines online with a debit or credit card. Here's a helpful video with step-by-step instructions for paying your fines online.


Q. Can I request items from other NWLS libraries, or from libraries outside of our system?

A. Delivery service between libraries is still unavailable. When placing holds, please limit your requests to items which are available at Superior Public Library. Here's a helpful video that will show you how to place requests on items available at Superior.


Q. What should I do with the library materials I already have checked out?

A. Please hold onto them. As the closure continues we will extend due dates so you won't be charged any fines. We're requesting that all patrons keep their library materials until we reopen.


Q. If I request something, can I pick it up the same day?

A. Requested materials will be ready for pickup two days after the request is made. For example, requests made on Monday will be available to pick up on Wednesday at the earliest.


Q. I have items on hold which were ready to be picked up before the library closed, but I couldn't make it to the library in time! Can I still come and get them?

A. Yes! Please call (715) 394-8860 to schedule a pickup for your items. You may be able to schedule a same-day pickup for items which are already on hold and ready to be picked up at Superior Public Library.


Q. What about materials from the Solon Springs and Lake Nebagamon branches? Are those items available?

A. Unfortunately, we are unable to obtain items from our branches in Solon Springs and Lake Nebagamon at this time.


Q. Will Librarian Picks (grab bags of materials in a specific genre or format) be available to check out?

A. Yes! Please call the library during designated hours and ask about Librarian Picks.
