Curbside Pickup Details & FAQs

Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in Douglas County, staff availability due to quarantine, and Governor Evers’ Executive Order #94 encouraging the public to stay home to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Superior Public Library will close its building to the public and offer curbside pickup service only starting Monday, November 16. The library will re-evaluate the suspension of in-house services every two weeks beginning Monday Nov. 30.

The following services will be unavailable until further notice: Public Computer/Printing Sessions, Copying and Faxing Services, Public Browsing and Checkout.

Contact-free curbside material pick-up will still be available. To request contact-free curbside pick-up, please call (715) 394-8860. Curbside pickup is available during the following times:

  • Monday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Thursday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Friday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

When your scheduled pickup time arrives, pull up to the front of the library and a member of our staff will bring your items outside for you to pick up.

We will continue to offer free WiFi, which is accessible from the parking lot, and accept material returns in the outdoor bookdrop.

We also have thousands of digital resources available, including downloadable materials, online newspapers, educational and recreational classes, and more. In addition, SPL staff will continue to offer many online programs. Check out our website to see all the offerings.

Q. What steps is Superior Public Library taking to prevent transmission of COVID-19?

A. The Superior Public Library is working hard to ensure the safety of the materials we share with you. We are following CDC recommendations for sanitizing and quarantine timelines. Due to those recommendations, please exercise your own judgement on whether to quarantine these items further when you return home.

Q. I have fines on my account! Can I still request and check out materials?

A. If your fines are $5 or less, you can still request and check out materials. If your fines are greater than $5, you can pay your fines online with a debit or credit card. Here's a helpful video with step-by-step instructions for paying your fines online.

Q. Can I request items from other NWLS libraries, or from libraries outside of our system?

A. You may request items from other NWLS libraries and from libraries outside our system. Items we receive from other libraries are quarantined when they arrive.

Q. What should I do with the library materials I already have checked out?

A. Please return library materials in the outdoor book drop in front of the library.
